Curriculum Overview
At Newport Primary School, we are committed to providing a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential. This section contains key documents that outline our curriculum intent, implementation and the knowledge and skills children develop throughout their learning journey.
If you would like further information about our curriculum, including how it is planned and delivered, please contact the school office on (01642) 861911. A member of our staff team will be happy to discuss any aspect of the curriculum with you.
Religious Education (RE)
Religious Education plays an important role in helping pupils develop their understanding of different beliefs, cultures and worldviews. Through RE, children learn about the values of respect, kindness, tolerance, empathy and understanding, supporting their personal development and preparation for life in modern Britain.
Parents and carers have the legal right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education lessons. However, we encourage all pupils to participate in RE as it provides valuable opportunities to explore diversity, develop critical thinking skills and foster mutual respect for others.
