Pupil Premium

All publicly funded schools in England receive additional government funding to support the attainment of disadvantaged pupils.

Evidence shows that pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds can face additional challenges in reaching their full potential and, on average, may not perform as well as their peers.

The Pupil Premium Grant is designed to help schools address these challenges by supporting pupils’ progress and improving the outcomes they achieve.

Schools receive funding based on the number of eligible pupils in the following groups:

  • Pupils eligible for free school meals
  • Looked-after children and those who have previously been looked after
  • Pupils with a parent who:
    • is currently serving in HM Armed Forces
    • or has retired from the Armed Forces and is in receipt of a Ministry of Defence pension

At our school, we use this funding strategically to provide targeted support, ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to achieve their best.
